SAF Delivers Second Tranche of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar in Aftermath of Earthquake

In view of the urgent need for aid, the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (Changi RHCC) coordinated the delivery of a second tranche of humanitarian aid via two Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 transport aircraft today. In total, Singapore has delivered more than 19 tonnes of humanitarian aid to help communities in Myanmar affected by the recent 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

For the second tranche of humanitarian aid delivery, the Changi RHCC worked closely with the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) and the Myanmar Red Cross (MRC) to consolidate more than 10 tonnes of aid contributed by the SAF, the SRC, the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE), and local Non-Governmental Organisation, ReliefSG. The relief supplies included water filters, potable water, potable water bags, canned food, meal packs, and tentages to support emergency shelter and sustenance needs.

This deployment reflects Singapore’s continued commitment to providing timely and effective humanitarian assistance in response to regional crises, in close partnership with local stakeholders and organisations.
